Hematological Malignancies Research Horizons - The 4th Dotan International Symposium

Advances in Research of Hematological Malignancies - The 3rd Dotan International Symposium | 19.11.2018 | Felsenstein Medical Research Center, Rabin-Schneider Medical Campus

On November 19, 2018, we held the 3rd international conference on translation research of Hematological malignancies. The conference that was held at the Tel Aviv University Felsenstein Research Institute on the Rabin Medical Campus, was the result of a joint initiative by Prof. Shai Izraeli, Chair of the Varda and Boaz Dotan research center for hemato-oncology and Prof. Paresh Vyas of the University of Oxford and the UK Academic Study Group on Israel and the Middle East.

Nine researchers and clinicians from the UK along nine Israeli colleagues presented critical issues and current research objective in hematopoietic stem cells and their niche, lymphoid and myeloid malignancies. The meeting was very successful, with close to 300 participants, which were a mix of scientists, students and physicians from all the medical and academic centers in Israel.

Dotan Conference 2018

These meetings are important as they enhance collaborations between Israeli investigators and their colleagues from leading international institutions. Already several joint activities were initiated or enhanced following the Dotan symposia. Moreover, there is no doubt that direct meetings between physicians and scientists with different expertise in the field, ultimately improve care of patients. Such unmediated encounters, strengthen the translation of scientific discoveries to patient care and clarify to scientists the most burning problems in patient care that requires laboratory research.

We thank all our guests and hope to see you again next year!
