Celebrating a Legacy: Prof. Isaac Witz’s 90th Birthday Symposium on Advancing Cancer Research

A special seminar honoring Prof. Isaac Witz on his 90th birthday was held on November 26, 2024, at Jaglom Hall, Tel Aviv University. The event was hosted by the Shmunis School of Biomedicine, the Cancer Biology Research Center, and the TAU Vice Dean for R&D with over 150 participants.

 

The special symposium honored Prof. Witz's outstanding contributions to cancer research, particularly on the tumor microenvironment.

 

Prof. Witz opened the scientific session by reflecting on 6 decades of exciting scientific journey. The event that brought together several generations of cancer research in Israel with many of Prof. Witz's students and colleagues,  symbolized a tribute to a career that has significantly shaped our current understanding of cancer biology​.

The seminar not only celebrated Prof. Witz's remarkable scientific achievements but also inspired subsequent generations to continue advancing the frontiers of cancer research.
