Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro to Receive the 2025 NCK Prize for Outstanding Medicinal Chemist

Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, Head of Tel Aviv University's Cancer Biology Research Center (CBRC), has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2025 NCK Prize for an Outstanding Medicinal Chemist.

The award, presented by the Medicinal Chemistry Section of the Israel Chemical Society (MCS-ICS), honors her remarkable contributions to the development of novel anti-cancer therapeutics based on new molecular targets, mechanisms, and precision-targeted delivery systems.

Prof. Satchi-Fainaro is internationally recognized for her pioneering research in cancer nanomedicine, tumor dormancy, and bioengineered 3D tumor models. Her lab has developed multifunctional nanomedicines and nano-vaccines targeting tumor and stromal cells, leveraging combinations of chemotherapeutics, RNAi, mRNA, PROTACs, and immunomodulators.

These advances are currently being tested in clinical trials and have informed breakthroughs in image-guided surgery, diagnostics, and metastasis research across various cancer types.

The prize ceremony will take place on August 4, 2025, during the Annual Meeting of the Medicinal Chemistry Section of the ICS at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Congratulations to Prof. Satchi-Fainaro on this well-deserved recognition!
