The Cancer Biology Research Center (CBRC), in collaboration with the Gray Research Fund for BRCA-related malignancies, is pleased to offer international research travel grants of up to $6,000 each to support research visits of up to two months.

 

The program is intended for Ph.D. students conducting research that requires access to scientific expertise, technologies, methodologies, infrastructure, or facilities not currently available in Israel. The grants are designed to facilitate research visits to leading academic institutions or research facilities abroad, with the goal of advancing high-quality cancer research and promoting international scientific collaborations. Preference will be given to projects related to BRCA-associated malignancies.

 

Applications are open to Ph.D. students at Tel Aviv University who have successfully completed and received approval for their doctoral research proposal. Travel support may be used for research visits taking place through December 31, 2026. Visits must be conducted at a recognized higher education institution or established research facility abroad.

 

The entitlement may be exercised for up to six months from receipt of the award notification. Depending on the number of applications submitted, grants may be limited to one award per laboratory.

 

Applicants should submit: 

  • Short CV (NIH style) - up to 2 pages
  • Letter of recommendation and justification from the supervisor - up to 1 page
  • Short description of the research project and the specific need for facilities or expertise unavailable in Israel - up to 2 pages
  • Confirmation of Ph.D. proposal approval
  • Invitation or letter of support from the host institution/facility abroad
  • Details of the planned visit, including dates, location, duration & proposed research activities - up to 1 page
  • Preliminary budget for the requested travel period.
     

Applications that do not conform to the requested format will not be considered.
