The goal of Dr. Carmi’s lab at the TAU, is to provide a detailed understanding of the mechanisms, signals and molecular pathways by which dendritic cells induce and activate tumor-restricted T cell immunity. To this end, we generate several novel mouse models designed to label the antigen-experienced T cell populations and dendritic cell subsets, and monitor their trafficking during tumor progression and immunity.
In addition, we have established a unique experimental mouse melanoma model, which enables us to isolate and sequence the T cell clones that react against the tumor cells and to identify their target antigens. Furthermore, we are engineering novel chimeric receptors to affect and modulate different routes of immunity that are capable of complete eradication of tumor lesions.
