Dr. Yaara Oren completed her BSc and PhD at Tel Aviv University, where she studied regulatory evolution of bacterial pathogens under the supervision of Prof. Tal Pupko and Prof. Eliora Ron.
She then became a postdoctoral fellow at the Broad Institute and Harvard Medical School, where she studied cancer persister cells with Prof. Joan Brugge and Prof. Aviv Regev.
Her lab focuses on the identification and characterization of mechanisms of non-genetic drug resistance in cancer and what they can teach about of non-Darwinian evolution.
