Dr. Orna Steinberg, MD, MSc
Dr. Orna Steinberg-Shemer is a physician scientist at the hematology unit of the Rina Zaizov, Hematology-Oncology Division at the Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel, and the head of the pediatric hematology laboratory at the Felsenstein Medical Research Center, Tel-Aviv University.
She received her MD and MSc from the Hadassah Medical School, the Hebrew University, and completed her post-doctoral training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Her major clinical and research interest is hematological inherited diseases, including severe congenital neutropenias, and she is especially interested in the malignant transformation processes in this disease.
Through the studies of rare diseases, Dr. Steinberg-Shemer aims to elucidate basic processes of hematopoiesis and of malignant transformation.
