Dr. Shlomit Strulov Shachar

Dr.Strulov Shachar is a senior medical oncologist and researcher in Sourasky Tel Aviv Medical Center.

 

Dr.Strulov Shachar has over 50 publications in peer-review journals, has written book chapters, and has presented at numerous international professional meetings. Her research interests have spanned a broad range of topics in breast cancer, including body composition and treatment outcomes, geriatric oncology, treatment toxicity, and translational research. Dr. Strulov Shachar is a recipient of several research grants for body composition and breast cancer research and performs peer review for oncology, breast cancer, and body composition journals.

 

Dr.Strulov Shachar research group studies basic and translational Research of breast cancer including: body composition and toxicity in patients with breast cancer, aiming to develop pharmacological models to predict toxicity in patients receiving chemotherapy based on individual  body composition, including interventions for those at risk. Another area of interest as part of personalized cancer care is basic research for optimizing cancer treatment sequencing to increase efficacy and decrease unnecessary toxicity.

 

Dr. Strulov-Shachar has joined the School of Medicine as a 50% employed Physician-Scientist, allowing her protected time for research.
