Prof. Tsarfaty laboratory research focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms leading to the development of metastases in breast cancer patients and the role of oncogenes that were first isolated in this laboratory, in the development of breast cancer.
A unique mouse model, for evaluating the impact of these genes and on the development of metastases, was developed in by Prof. Tsarfaty team.
Highly advanced microscopic and macroscopic molecular imaging techniques are used for the development of drugs that inhibit Met's activity.
These drugs are in phases 2 and 3 of clinical trials. Current activities involve the development and testing of innovative treatments for breast cancer.
These treatments are based on the inhibitory activity of new Met, Chemotherapy and methods for customizing patient care.
